In this article, we'll explain one of the crucial steps of this transformation: the assembly of the panels, which are the walls of our home.
Today I take you into the heart of our journey, inside our little home on wheels: Romeo. This is Marco and I, at the moment in the North Cape, on board this truck that we've transformed into a proper little house. And when I say 'transformed', I really mean all the manual work, from the foundations to the details.
We decided to write this post to accompany the YouTube video where we show you in detail the materials we chose and the steps we followed to fix the panels onto Romeo. It wasn't easy, but with a bit of patience (and a great team of helpful friends), we managed to create a solid structure, ready to face any kind of adventure.

Required materials
- Gloves and various protections: First and foremost, safety. Never underestimate the importance of protecting yourself!
- Custom stencils: to fit the panels to the size of your windows, hatches, passageways and doors.
- Dime su misura: essential for making sharp and precise cuts.
- Clamps: Very useful for holding everything in place during assembly.
- Battery operated sealant gun: and don't forget the spare batteries, always charged!
- Sika 252: We used the 600ml pouches, available in black or white.
- Sika Primer 206 G+P and Sika Aktivator-100: essential to prepare the surface and ensure perfect adhesion.
- Fray-resistant paper wipes and brushes: for precise cleaning.
- Professional glass suction cups: our ally for effortlessly moving heavy sheets.
- Floating and mobile scaffolds: the right structure to work safely and comfortably.
- Wood saw, ladders and hard plastic rollers: Tools needed for cutting and finishing.
- Sega per legno, scale e rullino in plastica rigida: strumenti necessari per tagliare e rifinire.
- Vinyl gloves and bin liners: to keep things clean and tidy.
- And, of course, a lot of patience.
Each step was a challenge, but seeing Romeo take shape has been immensely rewarding. The idea of having a house we can take anywhere truly makes us happy.
If you're thinking about taking on a similar project, our advice is to take your time and don't be afraid to ask for help. We had a team of incredibly helpful friends, and without them, we would never have completed the work so quickly.
