Spending Christmas holidays in New York was a dream we had always had. Who, while watching Christmas movies, has never dreamt of experiencing the magic of the Big Apple?

Reading time 2 minutes

Our eyes were filled with thrill when looking at the Christmas Tree in Rockfeller Plaza and we felt the magic atmosphere having a relaxed but suggestive walk through the streets of New York, admiring the extraordinary fairy-tale shop windows. We walked down the roads decorated with elegant and plain illuminations – and we did it in the first snow of winter. Wonderful!

These are the reasons why, according to us, it’s worth going to NYC on Christmastime

Enchanting shop windows

A walk down Fifth Avenue and around Times Square is a sight for sore eyes. The shop windows are full of beauty, opulence and attention to detail. It’s impossible not to became kids again, at least for a moment.

Millions of lights

Streets at night are lighted up by millions of colours, thanks to the tree-lined avenues and the lights out of the shops. It’s undoubtedly cold, but a hot chocolate and a slice of Cheesecake can help you recover. Cheesecake.

Vacanze di Natale a New York City Believe

Central Park, the ice-skating rink for squirrels

How many times have you seen families from the movies ice-skating in Central Park? Some sweet squirrels welcomed us on our way to the rink.

Rockfeller Center Christmas Tree

The Rockfeller Center and its wonderful Christmas Tree. Huge. Marvellous.

The Rockfeller Center is made up of 19 commercial buildings and it’s located in the core of Manhattan. It can’t be forgotten that the bulduings house also the NBC headquarters. Apart from the Christmas Tree, the Rockfeller Center has its own ice-skating rink.

Statue of Liberty

Wall Street Bull

We also took a picture of the Wall Street Bull and of the criticized Fearless Girl sculpture which stays in front of the first one and which will probably be sooner or later removed.

Where to eat

Talking about food, we have fallen in love with Guy’s American Kitchen & Bar reasonable prices and delicious dishes from all over the world.
